چکیده

Abstract Environmental metabolomics has the potential to facilitate establishment of a new suite tools for assessing physiological status important wildlife species. A first step in developing such is evaluate impacts various capture techniques on metabolic profiles as necessary obtain biological samples required assays. This study employed 1 H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)-based metabolite profiling 562 blood serum from wild bighorn sheep identify characteristic molecular makers three (dart, dropnet, and helicopter-based captures) inform future sampling protocols studies, provide insights into capture. We found that different induce distinct changes amino acid profiles, urea cycle, glycolysis, attribute differences patterns physical activity stress caused by methods. These results suggest when designing experiments involving animals, it may be prudent employ single technique reduce confounding factors. Our also supports administration tranquilizers soon animals are restrained mitigate short-term responses using pursuit restraint techniques.

NMR-based plasma metabolic profiling in patients with unstable angina

Objective(s): Unstable angina (UA) is a form of the acute coronary syndrome (ACS) that affects more than a third of the population before age 70. Due to the limitations of diagnostic tests, appropriate identification of UA is difficult. In this study, we proceeded to investigate metabolite profiling in UA patients compared with controls to determine potential candidate...

1H NMR-Based Profiling Reveals Differential Immune-Metabolic Networks during Influenza Virus Infection in Obese Mice

Obese individuals are at greater risk for death from influenza virus infection. Paralleling human evidence, obese mice are also more susceptible to influenza infection mortality. However, the underlying mechanisms driving greater influenza severity in the obese remain unclear. Metabolic profiling has been utilized in infectious disease models to enhance prognostic or diagnostic methods, and to ...
